The Stormflow Surfacing installation at Liuna 183 was an experience that blended craftsmanship with meaning. The work involved preparing and installing Stormflow Surfacing in areas needing permeability, including under bike racks, and numerous areas around the complex, including beneath benches. It was also around a particularly significant site—the eternal flame, which stands as a tribute to fallen construction workers.
The memorial itself serves as a powerful reminder of the risks faced by those who build our cities and infrastructure. Ensuring that the Stormflow Surfacing was installed with precision and care was not just about functionality but also about respecting the space and the lives it represents.
From leveling the base to securing it for longevity, Stormflow’s efforts resulted in a durable, aesthetically seamless finish that complements the site’s purpose. The colour chosen was a 50/50 black/grey mix.
This installation was a moment to reflect on the contributions and sacrifices of construction workers past and present. It was a privilege to play a small role in a project that will stand the test of time, both in structure and in meaning.
