Material Overview

Made from recycled tires, crushed granite and a proprietary binding agent — Stormflow Surfacing is an ideal surfacing material with endless applications.

Proudly Canadian Content

To remain sustainable and eco-friendly, our recycled tires come from Ontario. For out of province projects we source local tires and stone whenever possible. The tires go through a tightly controlled shredding process to remove 99% of the steel fragments and produce 1/4″ to 3/8″ nominal size rubber chip.

The stone used in our mixes is Ontario granite.

Flexible & Durable

Stormflow Surfacing resists crumbling/cracking which reduces trip and fall accidents. It is also ADA compliant because of the grip created by the rubber surface.

Resistant to oil, chlorine, ozone, UV rays, muriatic acid, transmission fluid, gasoline, diesel, hydraulic fluid, salt water and many other hostile materials.

Flexible enough to handle freeze/thaw cycles of Canadian winters.

Uses

1″ of Stormflow Surface
As an overpour on existing concrete, asphalt and wood. A cost effective way to cover cracked surfaces without the expense and mess of a tear-out.

1.5″ of Stormflow Surface
Recommended for patios, golf cart paths, residential walkway and other non commercial applications.

2″ of Stormflow Surface
For commercial applications, vehicle traffic areas, sidewalks, and trail/pathways

Since 2006 over 3 million square feet of Stormflow Surfacing has been installed across North America.
More than 13 million pounds of recycled tires
has been used in these installations.

The unique design of the material allows the entire surface area to be porous which allows an amazing 5,800 – 6,300 gallons of water per hour to pass through each square foot of surface area. Stormflow Surfacing is a ‘pour in place’ material that is mixed on site and applied as a single monolithic pour. Installation is much faster than traditional pavers and is much easier than concrete to finish. Best of all, Stormflow Surfacing is fully cured in 24 hours and ready for use. It still allows for a wide range of colours and patterns so it fits any application.

Non-Intrusive Installation

Stormflow Surfacing is mixed on site and is a ‘pour in place’ material that can be customized to your needs. Our equipment is non-intrusive so Stormflow Surfacing can be installed in sensitive areas. It is a cold mix so it does not have the smells associated with asphalt. It is installed as a single monolithic pour and this is why it resists cracking and movement as it is one large expansion joint. Installation is much faster than traditional pavers and is much easier than concrete to finish. Best of all, Stormflow Surfacing is fully cured in 24 hours and ready for use.

Stormwater Management

The unique design of the material allows the entire surface area to be porous which allows an amazing 5,800 – 6,300 gallons of water per hour to pass through each square foot of surface area. This diminishes water runoff by allowing water to soak through to the base layer of gravel and then through to the ground. Stormflow Surfacing reduces the need for separate retention areas which increases usable square footage of your site.
