Stratford-based firm, which combines old tires and crushed stone to make a strong, water-permeable surface, is finishing a three-year pilot project in Wellesley Township

WATERLOO REGION – A small startup called Stormflow Surfacing aims to help property owners reduce flooding, save money and improve the quality of water in underground aquifers. The Stratford-based firm is finishing a three-year pilot project in Wellesley Township with the University of Waterloo’s centre for pavement and transportation technology, and securing patent protection for the technology with help from the Waterloo Accelerator Centre, Stormflow spokesperson Becky Shaw said.
